(3D hologram sound technology) is a cutting-edge experiment which we call as “Experimental Art”. Visual 3D art and audio 3D art definitely could be combined to promote human being’s sensibility. People’s spiritual need is unlimited; developing such a kind of technology can help enhance our sensibility.

It was so exciting to be invited to the 3D lab. I’d like to show my deep respect to Mr. Zou Siwei’s devoting himself to the innovation and exploration in the sound area. I think the adventure and creation are quite vital to the education and music and is quite essential to our country’s development. Mr. Zou has brought a new conception which is not only on the level of technology but also on the humanism. Quite laudable!

Certainly an impressive space! It's fantastic to see so many of speakers in action in one place. That’s impressive! The software tool seems quite comprehensive. The individual effects of the sound seemed to travel to me quite well. The orchestral pieces represented are very much in front, but I could hear the actual spatial dimension that I'm sure what would not be here into the space. So, a very pleasing demonstration! Thank you for showing us.

It's very good to be invited to here. In terms of the detailed positioning, you can definitely get a greater sense of single point source positioning in the room. I could only hear mainly thing from here in front not so much from behind.  I think that was quite important. My concern is also with mixing being more complicated process. The general quality was good; the positioning was good. But I 'm currently not yet certain the real advantage over having so many speakers in comparison to still having positioning using a few speakers achieving the same psychoacoustic experience.

I think the piece “Rainforest” is probably most impressive. In terms of just listening to how stuffs could travel around spatially, I’m being more immersing in the sound which is much more immersive. The movement on that piece and on some of the individual elements was many too quick. But the piece itself was very good. That’s a very impressive demo! Thank you!

This is the first time that I heard such impressive sound. If the 3D sound could match up 3D picture, the effect would be more amazing. I believe the whole system and the production are the best I have ever heard. Great!

Never have I heard of such kind of symphony with so clear a sense of level. The position of the instruments like trumpet and Timpani (whose sound is post-produced by 3D sound technology) is fairly precise. That’s amazing! Hope 3D sound technology could bring more audio-visual pieces into being.

3D sound is more delicate and has a wider range. Also, the localization is rather precise. The orchestra playing with the audience’s listening is the traditional music-appreciation form. However, I think it’s the time to break the convention. If the symphony orchestra could be circularized, then the audience is not in a passive mode. Why the surround sound was accepted by people so rapidly? I think it is because at that time, surround sound had never been heard before. Now, this (3D sound) has never been heard before, either. 3D sound can provide more creation space for people! The sound that people need most is which is familiar but more than familiar sound. 3D sound can make it; it can localize; it can enlarge the orchestra; it can inspire people to do more!

"To be honest, this is the first time that I heard such sound. I find that nowadays, speakers in the cinemas always play very loudly. However, high volume alone is not enough because though loud, yet the sound is blurred. Unlikely, the sound here is quite crystal-clear. After hearing the explanation of the 3D sound technology, I feel it could be used to do a lot of things such as recording. It is an international standard. Our country invest little in the scientific and technology study of sound, or even very neglectful, because we Chinese seldom pursue for the quality of the sound. Actually, there could be a lot of areas where the technology could be applied, such as in the Shanghai Science& Technology Museum. Although having introduced many a new technologies like IMAX film, the sound technology demonstration in the museum is still inadequate.”

"This was a very nice experience. I think the application and popularization of the technology would be rather fast. Although the technology is quite professional, which we are not familiar with, yet as public experience, we found it is of great value for application in the tourism area.”
